This salt-glazed stoneware comes from the Westerwald region in Germany which has been making salt-glazed stoneware for more than 400 years. This stoneware pot was handmade in the typical style of gray pottery with cobalt blue floral designs. These kinds of dishes were originally used for storing and preserving food for the winter.
