Grosvenor Glasgow Lidded Stoneware Jar
An interesting large stoneware jar made by the Grosvenor Pottery, founded by Frederick Grosvenor in Bridgeton, Glasgow in 1869. The pottery was renamed the Eagle Pottery in 1885, so this jar was presumably manufactured in the period 1869-1885. The jar is tubular and the lid is held in place with a twisting metal clip. It has a capacity of 2 pint as indicated on the upper body and stamped with 'Grosvenor Glasgow' on the bottom.
