Japanese Hexagonal Blue and White Planter - Peacock and Pine Tree
A fabulous Japanese jardiniere from the Meiji Period (circa 1868-1912). The pot is tapered to the bottom with a bulbous hexagonal body and a wide mouth with a flat narrow lip. It's decorated with peacock and pine tree paintings in a traditional blue and white palette.
